I have been so poor at updating!
However I am delighted to say that this time next month not only will bumble bee be here but she is arriving with my mum, dad and brother! I am so excited to see the 3 most important people in my life.
I won’t have laid eyes on bumble bee in 8 months – won’t have held her hand- won’t have hugged her- wont seen those beautiful hazel eyes! To say im nervous is an understatement- I feel like my travels will truly begin when the love of my life joins me! 🙂 I miss you so much baby.
My folks and brother are here for 3 weeks- departing Sydney on 25th August. After that the campervan east coast adventures begins! Having settle well in Sydney and embraced working in city and living in Bondi- im very nervous my nice little life will suddenly be us and the open road- scared and eager for it to begin!
Bumble Bee- knows all to well the iconic story her granny Kathleen tells over and over- ‘ we were eating oysters and drinking champagne looking over the river Seine’ a family story shared again and again when she reflects on pastimes with her late husband. A story Bumblebee and I never get sick of listening too. We too want memories like this to tell our grandchildren- Australia 2014/2015 will the beginning of our travels. We have so much of our beloved Ireland to do, many nooks in Europe to explore and the USA (bumblebee has been lucky enough to go twice) I however haven’t yet see America. This adventure will be the making of us- as a couple, as friends and as life partners. Being apart has been difficult-I guess the old philosopher who said ‘ good things come to those to wait’ and by god we have waited to see each other and embark on this journey.
I must say aside from her looking after me, bedtime snuggles, making me laugh and going on little adventures with her- I cannot wait until bumblebee gets settle and gets her cook on- I have eaten in some outstanding places during my time in Sydney and cooked a fair bit of delicious cuisine- but noting puts a patch on my bumblebees cooking! This girl is not only a fantastic cook- she tries new things- develops intense simple rustic flavours! She will revel in the new ingredient and no doubt get inspiration from the wealth of Asian influences everywhere in Sydney! I have no doubt her repertoire of recipes will expand rapidly!
As a rough idea of what we plan to do once we secure our camper van- these are the hotspots I hope to look back on and smile:
Coffs Harbour
Byron Bay
Gold Coast
Noosa/Fraser
Brisbane
Whitsundays
Cairns
Then onto farm to earn second year visa :
FarmWork/ Melbourne work/ NZ/Thailand
Over and out for now
